From the cool, high-altitude vineyards of Tumbarumba in New South Wales, Allegiance Wines' Thomas James Pinot Gris 2025 is a textural, medium-bodied white with more weight and mouthfeel than you might expect from a 12% cool-climate wine. Ripe pear, green and red apple, subtle roasted spice and gentle aromatic richness on the nose; the palate is notably soft and almost velvety in texture, with pear, apple and roasted-spice flavours carried by fresh, lively acidity and a clean finish. Rated 93 points by Campbell Mattinson and recognised at the Melbourne International Wine Competition 2025, this is a Pinot Gris with genuine substance — fresh and easy to drink, yet with enough texture and fruit weight to hold its own with richer dishes.
