Château Talbot is one of Saint-Julien's most respected and historically significant estates, classified as a Fourth Growth (4ème Grand Cru Classé) in the famous 1855 Classification of Bordeaux. Named after the English commander John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, who fell at the Battle of Castillon in 1453, the estate produces wines of consistent power, elegance, and longevity from its privileged position in the heart of Saint-Julien. The 2022 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest in decades — a warm, dry year that produced wines of exceptional concentration, balance, and ageing potential across the Médoc.
The nose is complex and inviting with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, dark cherry, violets, cedar, and graphite. On the palate, expect a full-bodied, concentrated wine with refined oak, tobacco, fine-grained tannins, and elegant minerality, finishing long, powerful, and beautifully balanced.
