Le Clos du Roy is one of Mercurey's most prestigious Premier Cru sites, and in the exceptional 2022 vintage it delivers with real authority — ripe plum, wild berries, dark fruit and spice on the nose, with earthy complexity adding depth. The palate is rich and concentrated, with silky, velvety tannins, beautifully balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish. Awarded 93 points by Decanter (Charles Curtis MW), with further development expected over the coming years.
