Giant Steps Chardonnay 2023 750ml

From one of the Yarra Valley’s most acclaimed producers, Giant Steps Chardonnay 2023 is a multi-vineyard blend drawing fruit from Sexton, Gruyere Farm, Tarraford, Applejack and Wombat Creek. The 2023 vintage was cool and slow-ripening, producing concentrated fruit with naturally bright acidity. Whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in 500L French oak puncheons with around 15% new oak and partial malolactic fermentation, the wine shows aromas of ripe white pear, nectarine, lemon curd and citrus with delicate floral, flinty and mineral notes; the palate is bright and energetic with white peach, pear and lemon, a gently creamy texture and a distinctive saline mineral character; the finish is long with subtle French oak adding texture rather than overt toastiness. 95 points — Halliday Wine Companion & Wine Pilot.
