Henschke Hill of Grace is one of Australia’s most iconic and revered wines — a single-vineyard Shiraz of world-class stature, drawn from a parcel of ancient vines in Eden Valley whose oldest survivors date back to the 1860s. Planted by the Henschke family’s ancestors adjacent to the Gnadenberg Lutheran church — the “hill of grace” from which the wine takes its name — these gnarled, ungrafted old vines yield tiny quantities of Shiraz of extraordinary concentration, complexity, and depth that has earned Hill of Grace its place among the greatest wines in the world. In 2008, a year of cool, measured ripening in the Eden Valley, the wine reveals its more refined, restrained face — a Hill of Grace of exceptional elegance, fine-grained tannin, and the haunting, savoury complexity that only truly ancient vines can deliver. Now entering its finest drinking window.
