From the Beautiful Valley Vineyard at 450–500m elevation in the Adelaide Hills, Howard Vineyard AMOS Chardonnay 2024 is a single-vineyard expression of cool-climate precision and finesse. Hand-picked from Bernard 76 and 95 Chardonnay clones, whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in French oak barriques, with 11 months barrel maturation. White blossom, lemon curd and fresh stone fruit on the nose with hints of brioche and spring blossom; the palate shows green apple, white peach and bright stone fruit with touches of crystallised ginger and cardamom spice, a subtle chalky mineral character and lively lime-like acidity; the finish is long with nutty vanilla-cream oak and a lingering lemon-compote note. 95 points — Mike Bennie, Wine Companion.
