From 30-year-old vines in Central Otago, Maude Chardonnay 2023 is a rich, textured and concentrated cool-climate Chardonnay made with whole-bunch pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation and 100% malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques and puncheons. White peach, stone fruit, grapefruit and lemon on the nose with dried honey, cashew, brioche and subtle spice; the palate is creamy and generously textured with fine acidity and a mineral character providing balance and a long, refined finish. 94 points — Cameron Douglas MS, complex and varietal with grapefruit, peach, lemon, vanilla, cashew and lees characters.
