Named in honour of the year Mayfield’s historic homestead was established, the Eighteen Fifteen Chardonnay 2023 is crafted from cool-climate fruit grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Orange, New South Wales. Bright citrus and white stone fruit are complemented by delicate notes of toasted hazelnut and a creamy texture, while crisp natural acidity provides freshness and length. White peach, lemon zest, grapefruit and nectarine on the nose with subtle toasted oak; the palate shows layers of citrus and stone fruit with hints of roasted nuts and gentle creaminess, balanced by vibrant acidity and mineral freshness; the finish is long, elegant and refreshing.
