Warramate is one of the Yarra Valley’s oldest and most quietly distinguished estates — a small family winery with vineyards first planted in 1970, producing wines of genuine finesse and regional character. Their Marsanne Roussanne is a tribute to the great white blends of the northern Rhône, made from two varieties that have long found a sympathetic home in Victoria’s cool-climate regions. The 2022 is an elegant, textured white: honeysuckle, white peach, and a subtle waxy, lanolin note on the nose, with a rich yet fresh palate of stone fruit and citrus, fine acidity, and a long, mineral finish that will only improve with a few years in the cellar.
